Vocalist, composer and pianist Andrė Pabarčiūtė is a young artist displaying extraordinary temperament, creativity and maturity. Her performances could be characterized as works of art that are pulsating with energy, intuition and improvisation.
Andre express herself as a creator and performer in music trends such as experimental music, avangarde, free jazz, also sacred, world music, electronic and modern academic music. Creative work of her ranges from modern improvisational and composed music to dance performances, poetry and theatre performance.
Winner of various competitions, she has graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre as a student of prof. P. Geniušas. Andrė also studied the complexities of jazz performance together with the legendary figure of the Lithuanian jazz culture - Mr. Vladimir Chekasin.
Andrė is regularly taking part in different festivals dedicated to jazz, electronic and academic music. She is also participating in dance and theatre festivals held both in Lithuania and abroad.
The young artists is a regular member of the ANDRE-TOKAR-KUGEL trio (Andre Pabarčiūtė - voice , Klaus Kugel - perc., sound objects, Mark Tokar - bass). In 2010 the Trio released their CD VARPAI, which received excellent reviews and gained impressive amounts of airplay in the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Australia and elsewhere.
Andrė is also a member of other successful collaborative projects, such as the electronic jazz ELECTROskruzdelynas (with Klaus Kugel, Christian Ramond, Stefan Heidtmann), jazz project Ophelia (with Waclaw Zimpel, Mark Tokar, Klaus Kugel), duo project of Mewlana Jalaluddin Rumi poetry (with percussionist Arkady Gotesman). Andrė plays one of three main roles in a theatre drama ''Silk'' (by A.Baricco) directed by B.Mar.
Some of the most impressive works of Andrė include a mesmerizing project The Trip, or Inner Emigration with her New Art Trio (Andre-voice, composition, electronic; Tomas Dobrovolskis-brass globe, electronic, percussions; Raimondas Sviackevicius - accordion) & Sainkho Namtchylak and a one-actor piece You Are Love, created touchingly after the texts of the Song of Songs.
Andrė is actively producing her solo projects that revolve around electronic and avant-garde music, theatre, movement, poetry and singing.
She is often collaborating with performers of modern dance Lora Juodkaitė and Edita Stundytė, actress and director Birutė Mar, composers Algirdas Martinaitis, Jonas Jurkūnas, Martynas Bialobževskis, Antanas Kučinskas, Albertas Navickas, Gediminas Gelgotas, jazz musicians Klaus Kugel, Sainkho Namtchylak, Waclaw Zimpel, Bobby Few, Vladimir Chekasin, Christian Ramond, Stefan Heidtmann, Jacob Karlzon, Brahm Fetterman, Ryoji Hojito, Liudas Mockūnas and others.
